The Three Great Halls

Gadan Songzanlin Temple is located at No. 3 Niwang Road, Jiantang Town, Shangri La, only 3 kilometers away from the county seat

The three main halls of Songzanlin Temple are numbered from right to left, with three main halls facing north and south, arranged in a straight line from left to right, named "Jikang", "Zhacang", and "Zhukang".

The Zhacang Hall is a unique Buddhist research site within Tibetan Buddhist temples. Built between the 18th and 20th years of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty, the architectural style and murals reflect the highest level of the temple. Yongzheng bestowed the name Songzanlin Temple as "Guihua Temple", and his younger brother and Prince Shuo Guo presented a golden plaque with the words "Ciyun Guangfu" to hang on the main entrance of the Zhacang Hall. The whole hall is a five storey Tibetan sculpture building, which is supported by 116 pillars. It is built for the arch of wooden architecture Vajra Vajra Vajra Vajra beam. These pillars are called auspicious pillars in Tibetan areas. The whole hall can accommodate more than 1600 monks sitting across and chanting sutras.

The Jikang Hall, also known as the Zongkaba Hall, is located on the left side of the Zhacang Hall. Inside, there is a statue of the founder of the Gelug sect, Zongkaba Master, and the four walls are painted with murals of the Eight Great Medicine Buddhas, which can be considered exquisite.

Zhukang, also known as Shakyamuni Hall, is located on the right side of Zhacang Hall and worships the founder of Buddhism, Shakyamuni.
